America's Aryan Nation is Not Just a Bunch of Skinheads; It's Self-Appointed "Chosen by God" Senators, Members of "The Family"

Submitted by mark karlin BUZZFLASH EDITOR'S BLOG

Since Senator Ensign's unrelenting affair with a woman of his staff married to a another of his staff became public, much attention has been drawn to the Skull-and-Bones-like secret society of self-appointed "Christian Super Men" who are part of the Ubermensch "Family."

Ensign may eventually face legal charges for financial transactions related to his affair -- as well as sexual harassment charges -- but in his "C Street Family" sanctuary, he is a welcome man. Even Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, who believes that doctors who perform abortions should be executed and lesbianism is rampantly "afflicting" grammar school girls, "allegedly" counseled Ensign on how to cover up his prolonged and unrepentant sexual dalliance that was virtually incestuous. Coburn too, is a member and resident of "The Family" home, which is religiously incorporated, near Capitol Hill.

Of course, Mark Sanford is a regular guest at "The Family" residence and "worship" center when in D.C., seeking guidance on how to be a "King David" (as he recently called himself) who was allowed his sins because he, "The Family" members believe, has been chosen by God, in the name of Christ, to lead the ignorant masses. The members and residents at the "C Street Family" home and spiritual warrior center forgive each other all sins, because they believe themselves Supermen. They are the Leopold and Loebs of modern evangelical fanaticism, which absolves individuals who believe that they have been absolved by God from responsibility for their behavior. In fact, they even consider that they suffer for their sins because they are attacked for simply living the life without limits that God allows them in turn for their "enlightened-divine" leadership of "strength and conviction."

On her MSNBC program, the brilliant and endlessly insightful Rachel Maddow this week featured skilled journalist Jeff Sharlet, author of "The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power," and his revelations were about as frightening as reading "Mein Kampf."

The jig is up for democracy if any of these men who use religion to allow for being above the moral and actual law becomes president. Bush, after all, thought he was chosen by God, when it was just the ethically defective and arrogant Antonin Scalia who put him in the White House.America's always had a streak of charlatan religious hucksters a mile wide through its history, but men of power who think that they are accountable to no one because God has anointed them to be almighty -- in rule and sin -- these are political terrorists to democracy in our midst. They are just self-righteous, hubristic, terribly flawed and lacking men with clay feet. But so were so many tyrants and enemies of democracy throughout history. We endure them in elected office at grave risk to our Constitutional foundations.

5. I don't think it's overstated one bit.
The danger is as real as it gets.

2. King David is a recurring theme. Ads on Medved's show for some weird church run constantly.
There is some Christian church or roadshow revival traveling under the name of the King David Temple (if I recall correctly) or "Hebrew Christian". Sorry, but I didn't pay much attention to it at the time, thinking it to be simply another whack job sect or scam.

3. guys and gals like the "family" have been around for a long time....
they tried to overthrow fdr but lost.they waited for the right time and they finally had the spokes model in ron reagan.bush sr crossed them by raising taxes and lost to clinton. they took control of the house and senate until the election of 2008,and they placed bush jr in the presidency for 8 years.

now they are going after barack obama...that is why it is important to expose these people to the light of day.

8. Agreed 100%
The light of day on the "secret society" is what sends the rats scurrying away.

These people are perverted and destructive, they are power drunk maniacs - and if 1/10th of the accusations and innuendos surrounding them are true, they are also treasonous bastards who should be hanged. The very idea that mainstream Americans are so blinded by their "faith" to believe that electing men like Ensign, Sanford, Inahofe, etc. is REALLY preferable to electing any candidate who would run on issues but state they have no religion is dumbfounding.

The power of fear has always been dangerous and allowed men to lord over other men through deception and deceit. Well, there are REAL issues now in the secular realm that need to be addressed....population growth, diseases and the loss of effective antibiotics, climate change, resource depletion, ocean fisheries disappearing, coral reef bleaching, and on and on and on. If people could tear themselves away from pious pondering of the imaginary "life in the world to come" and actually look around at the real world and work to understand what scientists are desperately trying to tell them, then fear could be channeled differently and instead of using fear to enhance the fortunes of the snake oil salesmen in politics and religion, that fear could drive innovation and new technology to solve these very vexing issues.

The world lost too much with the death of Carl Sagan - a true visionary and a voice that was able to convey the majesty and potential of science and technology to the broad public without losing their interest or making them turn away to the comforts of religion instead. How I wish a new voice would emerge from the wilderness to help rescue humanity. The future of the species IS at stake...and allowing men such as those in "C-street" or "the Family" or whatever other name one wishes to assign to a group dedicated to concentrating power in fewer and fewer hands of the "elect" is a one way ticket to extinction.

7. Ironically, these "domininionists" don't seem to be interested in Jesus' dominion as their own.
Which should not surprise anyone familiar with the Christian right.

"they even consider that they suffer for their sins because they are attacked for simply living the life without limits that God allows them in turn for their "enlightened-divine" leadership of "strength and conviction." How convenient to be exempt from the rules others must follow.

These MEN and WOMEN must be rooted out, exposed, and brought low.

Recommend.
