What, No Whining About Matthew Shepard Bill by GOPers?
As we near passage of the Matthew Shepard Act today int he Senate, the Republican Party is unusually quiet. Jeff Sessions had no problem carrying out race-based questioning of Sonia Sotomayor yesterday, but, relatively, they seem to be walking on eggshells when it comes to gay and lesbian citizens being protected. What’s with that?

1. Their self-righteous condescence has been focused elsewhere.
...misfocused, no doubt. Apparently it can't be spread around too much, or it will lose its potency?

2. I think they are afraid
to further offend suburban voters. Those voters won't be offended by attacks on a Latina, or so they think.
