Tata Consultancy Services has 18,000 H-1B Visa Workers |
|
Moreover, the company already has around 18,000 employees with valid H1B visas, both in India and overseas, said Mr Ajoy Mukherjee, Vice-President and Head Global Human Resources. TCS relocated over 1,000 of its overseas staff during the quarter ended June 30 to increase offshoring revenues. The move had a positive impact of about 95 basis points on the company’s margins. http://endh1b.com/Web/blogs/endh1b/archive/2009/07/25/tata-consultancy-services-has-18-000-h-1b-visa-workers.aspx

Particularly when I first started driving a cab, I would drive Indian H1Bs back and forth to work to EDS, Delphi, and the Chrysler Tech Center.
My experience with many (not all, but a majority) of them is that they were arrogant, non-tipping jerks who wanted you to commit receipt fraud. For example, "Could you leave the amount blank?" or "I didn't get a receipt last time" or everyone in the car wanting a receipt for the full amount.
And don't even get me started on the misogynist perv who mistook me for a pimp!
I ended up reporting them to EDS and Delphi security, and our business from them plummeted. Maybe not so popular a move with the company owner, but my fellow drivers were grateful, as they were sick of waiting forever for them to come out to their already under-priced runs, only to have them beg for a bigger break off the fare while stiffing the tip and pushing for the aforementioned extra / fraudulent receipts.
OTOH, I met a few here and there who were polite and pleasant and denounced the actions of their countrymen.
Having said that...
They are often times harder workers than their American counterparts. Having worked in various I.T. jobs (back in the good old days of the 20th Century), I have to admit many American DP types can be just as arrogant and fraudulent, with the added detriment of a poor work ethic. Again, not trying to paint everyone with the same brush, but it is a problem.

4. The OO is an archaic spelling. Also, a racehorse and a sailing vessel. |
