My near arrest for disorderly conduct..........
Edited on Sat Jul-25-09 03:33 PM by panader0
On a Friday night three years ago, I was at a friends house playing music at about 8PM. The area is quite rural, most folks have 5 to 10 acres. The cops showed up in force, two cruisers at first, then a van with search light and one more cruiser. They ordered us all outside, in a line, four from the band and three friends. My three kids were there too, playing with the hosts kids. The cops walked up and down, guns in hand, shining their flashlights in our eyes and making us each show ID. They asked if we had drugs or guns, and if they could search the trailers. The host said no. They finally left after issuing the host a citation for disorderly conduct (the noise ordinance in the nearby town allows noise until 10PM, but since there is no noise ordinance in the county, they can cite you for disorderly conduct at any hour) and warning us that they'd be keeping an eye out for us.
They could have just said to keep it down.
Oops--wrong forum. How do I edit to discussion?

2. Sheriffs?
why didn't you file a complaint?

sounds more like assholes from the Border Patrol, I have never had anything but good encounters with County - although I come from old family and am a middle aged white woman, I do know there are redneck jerks on the force

3. No, they were sheriffs.
Getting any rain over there Kali? We had a gully-washer yesterday.

4. HA!
I shut the computer down because the thunder was popping pretty hard (sorry to take so long to reply) - not a DROP! We had a good shower the other day too but it was really only 38/100ths, no running water so far, and only 4 1/2 inches for the year. Behind by about 3 inches already.:-(

I have a drunk relative over in your area somewhere and the boyfriend is psychotic - plus there are often kids around too, maybe they thought you guys were them - ha.

No sorry, that isn't funny to joke about unfair arrests. What became of the matter?

5. We Live In A Police State
But it is not about racial profiling, it is about socioeconomic profiling. If you had been in a McMansion instead of a trailer there would have been a very different outcome.
