Healthcare. Afghanistan. Iraq. Unemployment. TARP. State-level governments going tits up. Homelessness. Hunger. Veteran’s affairs. Torture. Gitmo. Not one piece of the progressive agenda is being meaningfully addressed, and congress is about to go on a month’s vacation. http://allspinzone.com/wp/2009/07/27/the-mendacity-of-nope/

1. But He's Trying - A Little - On Health Care |
|
You also forgot DADT, transparent government, and the rule of law (no warrentless wiretapping, unlimited detention without trial, etc). Those have been forgotten.
But things worked out great for Goldman Sachs, so what are you whining about? I'm puzzled.

4. So, you think it's better |
|
to have a slow painful death, rather than a fast painful death? This country and all it stood for is dying. I remember when I first moved to Syracuse (a city of about 100,000 people) the job want ads had it's own section on Sunday, and sometimes it would spill over into a second section. Last week, it had TWO PAGES of jobs. That's right, 20 years ago, 12 pages of job listings, now, it's 2 pages.
Maybe with McCain/Palin the destruction would have been faster and we could start working on rebuilding. This slowly ripping the bandaid off of a festering wound really isn't helpful, just more painful.

5. We Coulda Had a Revolution! |
|
I'm of two minds. Sometimes I think we as a nation of fools deserve a revolution. Sometimes I think we as a nation of educated and healthy, well-fed people, can find another way. The rest of the time, I think of just staying in bed, but that would be much better with a willing partner included in the deal....

6. In fairness, I thnk the Republican Dystopia has kinda taken up a lot of time and energy. |
|
Trying to prevent the Great Depression II has really been quite a challenge and time consuming. The Republicans left him quite a gift.

9. You think the Deregulation Depression wouldn't have lead to the Great Depression II? |
|
You don't think decades of Republican policies leading to the decline in real incomes of most of the population (except for the welthiest 5% - thank you GOP) eroded the buying power of most of the population and contributed to making this REpublican Dystopia? YOu don't think Republican overly expansionist monetary policies (to make the economy look healthy when it wasn't) didn't create a housing bubble? You don't think the Republican belief in deregulation and against minimal regulation of banking industry and especially predatory lenders helped create the Credit Catastrophe?
How long do you think it will take to repair the economy that very nearly went into The Great Depression II or something worse?
Try to get educated on the economy. Ignorance is not charming in those over the age of 4 or 5.
