America Wises Up About the War
“Just 32 percent, the lowest number ever, say Iraq was a threat that required immediate military action a year ago.  Less than half, 47 percent, now say the U.S. did the right thing taking military action in Iraq, the lowest support recorded in CBS News/New York Times Polls since the war began.
There are growing concerns about the long-term impact of the war. 41 percent now think the war increased the threat of terrorism against the U.S. 71 percent say the Administration’s policies have worsened the U.S.’s image in the Arab world.”

Well, well well: You can only fool most of the people some of the time.  See the poll numbers.

Gallup has just published a new poll of Iraqis by the way.  They found:

“Forty-two percent believe the country is in a better situation than before the invasion (31% "somewhat better off," 11% "much better off"), but nearly as many (39%) hold a contrary assessment (24% "somewhat worse off," 15% "much worse off"). Similarly, the third of Iraqis (33%) who say the coalition invasion of Iraq has "done more good than harm" are offset by a larger proportion (46%) who say that thus far, the invasion has "done more harm than good."

6. It does make all of us anti-war protesters look rather prescient
doesn't it?

This is one time it is not fun at all to say, "I told you so."

5. NO moral person can blame this on the American people. The blames lies
with the Media Board of Directors. They set the course, hire and fire all journalists. The list is too obvious.

7. But the information was out there for those willing to look
Those of us here at DU were very clear about the reasons for and impact of this war. Why? Because we critically analyzed our information. We searched out different sources that were not Ameri-centric. We didn't trust the words coming out of the mouths of those in political power. Why then should we give the other American people a pass?

8. Because there are 200 million Americans who thought they could believe
Edited on Sun May-02-04 10:10 AM by dArKeR
and trust their media sources which turns out to be false. We've learned a lot recently about the stealing CEOs, DA/detectives filing charges against innocent people, accounting companies falsely/fraudulently filling audits, and now we have the tip of the iceberg, the Racketeering Media which people like Eric Alterman has been warning us about. It would be good to post that pic which shows that all media in the USA is controlled by 7 corporations.

You also have to be honest and respectful to people. I know some people who have many challenges in life and just can't devote any time to digging for the truth. At most they can do is sit down, relax, and watch some evening news; CNN, FOX...

In my opinion the media should be RICO'd. And if Al Franken actually believes what he says, and what I believe, 'They got the memo'. I mean, Franken says this about info showing up on the RNC, Delay's website speeches, private groups, mainstream media websites... and it is about the exact same words... and Franken says 'they got the memo'. Well if this is true than it is a type of Racketeering, a conspiracy to defraud. This should be investigated.
