There Never Were Any Good Old Daysin The Dem Party |
|
I almost always vote democratic but I am becoming more and more disenchanted with the party. There are certain Dems like Kucinich that I support but then I read things liek this and I question my support of the party. What do you guys think of this? http://www.swans.com/library/art10/hhawk01.html

1. FDR - The era of the "good" Democrat died in 1945 |
|
When Truman dropped the bomb we lost our innocence and idealism.
When Johnson destroyed the nation with Viet Nam we lost our soul.
I think its not too late. Kerry's test will come. The best thing about Kerry is that he seems to have an open mind.

or Medicare, work 40 hour weeks, get paid a minimum wage, have anyone in his family try to obtain an abortion, or try to exercise civil rights based on sex or race.
What a pile of DRIVEL. Oh, yes, Nader really won the 2000 election.

3. Why is everyone here lately bashing the Democratic party? |
|
You mean to tell me we haven't done anything right at all?
The answer is obvious if you don't like it, you are free to leave anytime you like & don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you.

But I think things have gotten very difficult for us. The other side is not playing fair either.

7. This election is for keeps |
|
There are really only two choices here: Bush or Kerry. Democrat or Republican. A split within either party ensures a victory for the opposition. In November, you can choose a candidate who is a little further right than you would support, or you can choose a candidate who is a LOT further right, bordering on fascism.
Everyone who values the massive social changes that the Democratic Party has worked for over decades needs to step up to the plate come Election Day. We have no hope at all unless we win in November.
