Tea Party Protesters Protest D.C. Metro Service

Protesters who attended Saturday’s Tea Party rally in Washington found a new reason to be upset: Apparently they are unhappy with the level of service provided by the subway system.

Rep. Kevin Brady called for a government investigation into whether the government-run subway system adequately prepared for this weekend’s rally to protest government spending and government services.

They protest government spending and then complain about poor government services. They think the government is too inefficient to handle health care--so dreadfully inefficient that private enterprise would never be able to compete with it. They want the government out of their Medicare.

My head just exploded (and not in a pleasant way). What the hell sort of universe did I wake up in this morning?

There is no point in engaging these people but there is no strong moderate conservative leader to sideline them.

Side note:
It's my understand that the DC Metro receives no dedicated government funding unlike many other local mass transit systems. It relies entirely on fares for its regular operation and must wrangle money from two state governments and the federal government for larger construction projects like the Silver Line. (I could be wrong. Please correct me if I am.) So this notion that the government isn't spending enough on Metro is in fact correct.
