Joe Scarborough For President?
Joe Scarborough could be a great Republican presidential candidate in 2012, according to Republican strategist and media adviser Mark McKinnon.

McKinnon appeared on Hardball With Chris Matthews Wednesday to talk about Mike Huckabee's viability as a candidate in the 2012 presidential race in the wake of Sunday's shootings. After arguing that Huckabee could not and would not win the presidency, McKinnon floated the names of Republican leaders who he believes could compete against President Obama in 2012.

Joe Scarborough, the host of MSNBC's Morning Joe, is one of McKinnon's top picks. Before he was on TV, Scarborough was in Congress, representing Florida's 1st Congressional District. Scarborough, a Republican, served from 1995-2001.

McKinnon argues that Scarborough is an independent thinker with media savvy who can be called a "genuine conservative." Scarborough, McKinnon says, "appeals to people like me."

6. I agree
The Jackals of Journalism may be silent on the dead intern issue at present, but if/when Scarblow declares his candidacy there are certain jackals who will be allllll over his weenie ass on that career-killing issue, you may be sure.

9. Correct...that would really be a albatross around his neck.
He knows it too. He didn't run that time for another term. And he has refused to run when urged by a lot of people in Florida. I guess he knows he don't have a chance AND that they might take a closer look at her death. I was always suspicious of someone committing suicide by banging their head on a desk, not once but twice.

10. Although I often disagree with Joe and would probably never vote for him I will say he's infinately
better than someone the right-wing crazies, Crooks, and downright Idiots the GOP normally nominates as a candidate. I mean seriously, given the choice I would gladly vote for Scarborough over Huckabee, Gingrich or Palin or any of the truthfully awful candidates they will most likely run. As far as Republicans go, we could do a lot worse.
