If you would, search on "John Morgan" look on page 6 and click through on

"John Morgan Democratic Candidate For Florida House of Representatives, District 82"

I've made it from page 22 to page 6 and I would really appreciate it.

My campaign starts in earnest early next month and I so want to be on page one.

Thank you.

1. It's a very common name, unfortunately
Wouldn't it be better to point us to a campaign Web site?

6. I am totally aware of that! But I've made it to page 6. The pointer to the website is found at the
result of the search.

will search and click several times in the next few days.
hope this helps--we need to get rid of DINOs and DLCers as well as replace any repukes with Democrats.
I'm not living in Florida now, but I know it needs all the help it can get.

3. Why not give us a link to your web site. What you don't understand
is that a link here will get you better search engine rankings than many, many clicks.

Google spiders DU almost constantly. The results show up very, very quickly.

Had you put a link in your OP, with your name on it, you'd have moved up to at least page 2. Maybe higher.

Also, post on Craig's list with an ad for your candidacy and a link to your web site. That will also help.

Search Engine Optimization isn't hard, but you have to do the work. Click-throughs from here won't do much. Links here will.

7. There's always my tag line ... BTW: search "John Morgan fl" ... page 1 number 1
I'm on the way. I do understand the search criteria. There are many crosslinks just to get me to page 6.

8. Tag lines may well not be seen by the search engines. It depends
on how the database here is structured.

You do as you please. I'm offering some free advice that I normally sell. You're welcome to it. Or you may ignore it. It's free.

4. Final piece of advice from me:
Edited on Thu Dec-03-09 08:18 PM by MineralMan
Hire a professional web site person, or get an in-kind volunteer who is a pro. If you really want to get the hits from the search engines, you need to do that. If you're doing it yourself or having some college kid do it, you're not getting all you can out of your site.

There are not even any metatags for page title, description, and keywords on your site's source. Get someone in who understands this stuff. If you don't, your site doesn't stand a chance.

This I guarantee.

If you want to see how well these simple things work, search for Twin Cities Custom Blogging. I've done nothing more than I have suggested to you. The top four results are mine. And that's a competitive business.

9. Well, ahhh ... don't read my resume. Meta tags have been discounted long ago.
I'm not going to give the game away ... but "John Morgan fl" page 1 number 1!

fl district 82 ... I beat the gov site. page 1 number 1.

I think I have a clue, but thanks for the tips.

12. Well, you know best, I'm sure.
Oddly enough, though, I can test changes in my metatags and see the results overnight. They're not as important as they once were, but leaving them out altogether is not such a good idea.

If you're getting the results you want, though, I guess you don't need any help.
