Health Insurance Stimulus
Health Insurance Stimulus

I gave the president the benefit of the doubt. I noticed that He Never jumped on the band wagon for the public option. But, I thought he might have a plan he was following. So I waited .

But when;

*60-70% of the country wants a option. Almost all of them are in favor of a single payer program that would utilize Medicare!

*Single payer was bargained away it was never even up for dissection. We were promised the public option instead. Well we know how that went.

*Then throw in that we have a majority in the Senate and in Congress and a Democratic President.

*On top of it all we have loss The Man who is responsible for what has been accomplished so far in American Health Reform, Ted Kennedy passed away and it was his last wish that we would remember him by achieving his life goal

*And  last we all believed a man when he talked of change. We thought it might be possible.

Really when you put all of this together you must conclude that we should be looking forward to health reform to cover every person in America. We should also be benefiting from a strong public option. We should be...

I know you have heard this before, but it is true: We are the only modern nation not to provide universal health care.

We should make it very clear that we will not start paying for maditory insurance from the very companies that have been killing thousands of people a year. We will not make them wealthy.

I just wonder how these insurance  companies will make back all of the money they have been dumping on washington to stop reform!!

I wonder how people like Lieberman and Obama sleep at night and how can they look at themselves when they shave every morning!!

I will hand it to the GOP for getting two tax cuts through, the patriot act, funding for two wars and just about anything else they wanted with less represent ives then then Democrats have right now! The only thing they failed at was the privatization of social security!!

The bottom line is the corporation.
It wins every time! There was a lot of money spent by insurance companies.

I know what should of taking place, I saw what happened and there really is only one way to explain it!  Say it an't so "O".

1. You say a high % of people want single payer or at least a PO.
That's true, BUT the majority of the population in this Country live in a handfull of large cities and are mostly liberal. You're forgetting about all those States that may have lower population, but are mostly conservative. There are enough Reps & Sens from THOSE States that single payer never stood a chance! The PO had a shot, but again, enough conservative Sens. said NO! The Seniors are scared, foolishlly IMO, that the bill would screw up their Medicare! I hate the idea that the Ben Nelson's, Mary Landreau's, the Blanch Lincoln's etc. don't feel they can vote for PO because THEIR constituents don't want it...they're afraid of it! The single Senator I fault the most is Leiberman! I honestly don't think HE was taking positions in support of his constituents at all! He gets a LOT of his $$ from Hartford & Aetna, and those co's employ a lot of people in his State. I think his problem was EGO, POWER, & MONEY!

I don't fault Obama. Remember Clinton tried to write the bill and tell Congress what he wanted. It never got out of committee! Obama was playing to the ego's & power concious Congress so they would create a bill THEY designed. Watching the process has been painfull to say the least, but it has gotten farther than any other HC bills ever did.

I still want a bill to pass. Improve it later, improve it at the individual State level, but it's important to pass a bill!
