I’d suggest that we call the decade past the Big Zero. It was a decade in which nothing good happened, and none of the optimistic things we were supposed to believe turned out to be true.

1. but zero implies no change (by itself, at least)

so I don't think that is fitting. We lost ground in a big way over the past 10 years.

2. A lot of day traders did pretty well.

and Bush got those those tax cuts done and aided the military industrial complex. So atleast few people benefited.

3. Much better name is one I've used several years: The Oh-Ohs.

And eight years of Dubya really did make for oh-ohs.

4. I still favor calling the decade the REIGN OF TERROR

which would include both the war on terror abroad and the economic terrorism at home.
