A reminder to how the Republicans play the game (Gene Lyons)
LITTLE ROCK — Let’s get one thing straight, because the nation’s esteemed TV news networks appear determined to obscure simple facts for ratings-building melodrama:
The U.S. Senate has already passed the Obama administration’s health care reforms by a filibuster-proof majority. If House Speaker Nancy Pelosi can persuade a majority of House Democrats to pass the Senate bill, that’s the ball game. There’s nothing complicated about it.

1. I agree Mooseandsquirrel... (Ratings always triumph over the truth)
The major media organizations are deplorable. As you said, all they care about is building drama where none exists for the sake of ratings (and money). Not one major media outlet (NBC, CBS or ABC) has made the statement you made above. They feed off of conflict and when it doesn't exist, they create it.

The media isn't 'liberal' as republicans love to whine about. The media are corporate, and all they care about is making money. Exposing the truth is the last thing on their mind. I always wonder why not one democratic leader has denounced the right wing's claim that the media is 'liberal' by saying if that is so then why hasn't anyone on the right done anything to change it? Why haven't republicans gone to college to earn journalism degrees or become a part of the media in order to change it? By just whining about the so-called 'liberal' media they are inadvertently admitting they aren't intelligent enough to get university degrees or write coherently. They have been whining for the past thirty years about he big, bad 'liberal' media and haven't done anything to change it (other than the fake 'news' organization called 'fox' or polluted the radio airwaves with dishonest manipulators who easily dupe their mostly illiterate, ignorant and profoundly gullible audiences).
