Undecided Democrats hold power over health bill - USA Today

After all the presidential speeches and high-level negotiations, the fate of President Obama's health care legislation now rests with a handful of House Democrats whose names few will recognize outside their districts.
~~
Republicans universally oppose the effort. "We're going to do everything we can to make it difficult for them, if not impossible, to pass this bill," House Republican leader John Boehner said Sunday on CNN's State of the Union.

In case anyone would like to offer some encouragement to these Democrats here are their contact pages:

Some suggested points to make to them:

1) at the rate Health Insurance Premiums are going up, how long will the insurance industry last (how soon will the percentage of uninsured grow to 25%, 30% or more? .. 3 yrs, 2 yrs? How many employers will not be able to afford Group Coverage for their employees and start dropping that benefit?

2) EVERYBODY wants the insurance industry to stop denying coverage for pre-existing conditions. If Pre-existing conditions can't be used to dehy coverage - everybody HAS TO BE IN THE RISK POOL. This is not a Government requirement. It's a requirement of the insurance companies.

3) By eliminating denial of coverage based on Pre-existing conditions, insurance companies will have to make their money based on providing a better product at the same price or a comparable product at a lower price. They will be able to reduce costs because they won't need to pay people to search through medical records to find "pre-existing" conditions and will start to compete for policy holder based on price and performance. (Regulated for-profit insurance companies in France have administrative costs of about 4% compared to U.S. companies 21%).

4) 62% of all personal bankruptcies in the U.S. in 2007 were caused by health problems—and 78% - BusinessWeek

Here are six Democrats who are undecided on the health care vote:

1. 62% of personal bankruptcies in the U.S.(2007) were caused by health problems - & 78% of filers HAD
INSURANCE. Tell them THAT!

THe current system of health care/insurance is only going to last about 3 more years, 4 tops. Employers won't be able to afford it. Policy-holders won't be able to afford it. The uninsured percentage will go to 25% or 305 in a few years. This is an untenable situation!
