Historic Health Care Reform bill passes, Repunks continue their tantrum.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/ynews_ts1298">"Baby killer" shouter steps forward, highlights internal GOP dilemma

Neugebauer's confession will help speed the episode's exit from the news cycle—particularly once President Obama signs the health care bill into law and Congress moves on to fresh controversies. But the "Baby killer!" furor highlights a far more serious, long-term political dilemma for the Republicans: how to appear to be a respectable party capable of governing while also providing political shelter for the highly motivated, though vocally disruptive, protest wing of the party associated with the Tea Party movement.

Clearly, "appear" is the operative word here, as they certainly have demonstrated they are not a responsible group over the course of the last decade. Disagreeing with the policies proposed by the other party is fine if it leads to constructive debate but Republicans have shown themselves to be devoid of ideas and only interested in destruction of their opponents. They are at various times unctuous, petulant, sullen and have shown themselves to be thoroughly loathsome. They are opportunistic little schmucks whose only talent is for deconstructing government when their in power and sabotaging it when not (which only occurs when they haven't been able to subvert the last election).

They seem to be descending to ever greater depths of ignorance and irresponsible behavior, showing absolutely no shame in their increasingly reprehensible conduct. Their tirades and repetitive shouting of meaningless cant is nothing but verbal onanism. What are they going to do next,,,moon the President the next time he addresses Congress?

Their trouble is they have no philosophy. They don't believe in anything (except for gaining advantage) and have no values. Not believing in anything they are subject to paranoia and when they don't get their way they wrap themselves in self pity. Bereft of beliefs or values they only have their hypocrisy from which they try to fashion a counterfeit existence. When faced with disappointment or rejection they see it as a calamity of epic proportions ('armageddon' is how Boehner put it).

These are the travails of the opportunistic life, impoverished of any values, devoid of any beliefs. Pity the con man, but don't turn your back on him.

1. This paragraph says it all:
