Hilarious stuff, and right in line with something I said in the Guardian

the other day, about the public liking Brown as a mean SOB, rather than an urbane gentleman. It's a poster campaign they're thinking of unleashing.

The Tories and the media noise-machine had been tut-tutting at the fact that he was surly and bad-tempered, flying into rages with his colleagues, etc. This is, after all, a mad country, and it's only fitting that we should be governed by someone who.... well... reflects something of that.

1. Great. The U.S.(S.C.) installs an idiot sociopath for eight years...
and now EVERYONE thinks it's cool to have a mental defective heading their government.

4. Actually, some points made by one of the journalists are uncomfortably close to the
truth. Young people, in particular, are very impressionable, notably to the words of those in our society with a voice, and are prone to take what they say at face value, even when what is said/written tongue-in-cheek, and a valid point is turned into vaudeville humour.

It sounds beyond belief, but we actually have cable TV programmes in the UK glorifying the most violent pubs, individuals, etc. And they wonder why we have the highest prison population by a long chalk, in Europe, while every effort is made to avoid imprisoning even the most violent and malevolent individuals, or reducing their charges and sentences.
