US troops executing prisoners in Afghanistan
The journalist who helped break the story that detainees at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq were being tortured by their US jailers told an audience at a journalism conference last month that American soldiers are now executing prisoners in Afghanistan.

New Yorker journalist Seymour Hersh also revealed that the Bush Administration had developed advanced plans for a military strike on Iran.

At the Global Investigative Journalism Conference in Geneva, Hersh criticized President Barack Obama, and alleged that US forces are engaged in "battlefield executions."

"I'll tell you right now, one of the great tragedies of my country is that Mr. Obama is looking the other way, because equally horrible things are happening to prisoners, to those we capture in Afghanistan," Hersh said. "They're being executed on the battlefield. It's unbelievable stuff going on there that doesn't necessarily get reported.

1. Come on Hersh, get a life, this is
WAR! :sarcasm:

I can't believe I helped elect a war criminal, I'm so ashamed. In self-defense my only other choices were to "write-in", not vote or vote for one of the other "guys", leaving me no real choice at all. Just the pre-approved corporate candidate. I guess I'll just sit out elections from now on.

3. You know,
I've thought about not voting as well. It goes against everything I believe in, but I've thought about it.

2. If this is true , "It's a big fucking deal."
And if Hersh says it's true, it probably is.

Obamacrats? Your move.

7. Will do. I guess people that are murdered by US forces...
.... in Afghanistan are "less murdered" if the murdering happens under a DEM C-in-C.

5. Sickening.
Are we supposed to congratulate ourselves for not torturing any more and overlook the murder part of it?

12. At the Nuremburg War Crimes trials,
what was the penalty for those who murdered U.S. prisoners at Malmedy?

At the start of the Afghan war, what happened to those U.S. troops who
were with the Northern Alliance (Dostum's?), when Taliban prisoners were
lockd in freight containers, and many of them died?
