BP Says Oil Spill 'Tiny' Compared To Ocean
<snip>

BP's chief executive Tony Hayward said he felt under no pressure to stand down but admitted his future depends on how the company deals with the crisis.

In an interview with The Guardian newspaper he said: "The Gulf of Mexico is a very big ocean.

"The amount of volume of oil and dispersant we are putting into it is tiny in relation to the total water volume."

No wonder these guys are having problems containing the oil gusher. They are looking for the tiny spill.

3. I wonder if he'd be willing to drink a glass of water with a relatively "tiny"
amount of oil in it.

the catastrophic uncontrolled core breach oil volcano is tiny compared to the size of the worlds oceans, it will take years to cause a worldwide mass extinction

5. And a .22 rimfire slug is extremely small compared to a human body, too...
but look at the damage one of those can do....

6. No problem, it's much smaller than the universe...

I was watching Maddow tonight when she was discussing the abandonment of the latest "top hat" approach and the new plan to insert a tube into the casing to plug the well with "objects". That would not be possible if the casing which had the original 3 leaks was not ruptured or had not been removed by the subs, or perhaps knocked aside in the attempt to put the domes over it. So any oil coming from the casing may be only tangential.

So without an overt announcement, in what appears to be a continuing campaign of obfuscation, I think we have been told this well is, and perhaps has been, completely open and without restriction blowing the oil into the ocean, at some unknown and horrendously large rate. Did I miss the big announcement?

I would appreciate Navy remote-controlled sub video being taken and shown to the public in between failed attempts to cap this thing by BP. It might up the motivation level to get it closed.

9. That video is being shown

just not in this country. Outside of the good ole USofA everyone has seen footage of the geyser spewing oil on the bottom of the ocean.

Those pictures would just bruise our delicate American senses.

10. Here's the thing
What they really want to tell us is to fuck off and shut up because they aren't beholden to us, they are beholden to their shareholders and hell, they aren't even going to tell the truth to their shareholders so just shut the fuck up. That's what they really want to say. It's almost what I really want to hear them say because I'm tired of being treated like a stupid idiot by their lies. I wish they would just respect me enough to tell me the truth. Only, I'm not one of their shareholder and even if I were, they have no intention of talking straight to any of us.

So they run around telling their blatant lies and we're supposed to just nod our heads and pretend we aren't being lied to. It's getting tiresome but we all have our jobs to do so we might as well get to it.

11. BP executive optimistic about catastrophic oil spill
"Just think, in a few months, all you have to do to get oil is just scoop it out of the Gulf Of Mexico. We at BP just had the general public welfare in mind when we helped facilitate the most damaging ecological event in the history of the World." a BP executive was heard boasting the other day.

13. If we cut off two of his fingers with a bolt cutter, it would only be a small part of his total
finger volume. I wonder if he would think that was no big deal.

16. A drop in the ocean?!
Even if that's true and it certainly is yet to be seen, that man should be behind bars or at the very least, dropped into the tiny spot of the ocean where the oil is gushing. He can bathe in it.
