How much was BP Oil Rig producing before explosion ? |
I can find an array of estimates of how much oil may be leaking from the Deepwater Horizon oil rig BUT has anyone found out how much oilt they were capturing before the explosion ? If so then that is what is leaking as my best guess. Does anyone have the figure ?

1. That particular rig was not producing anything as I understand it. It was just |
in an exploratory phase. I could be wrong, but I think I remember reading that here on DU.

3. They were finishing the well, it had not produced any oil |
Since it blew, they have been trying to salvage the well over stopping the flow. The precious OIL is more important to them than the planet.
GREED!

5. That is most certainly not true. |
Surely you cannot think that the cost of drilling one well is greater than their financial liability for this spill? That's absurd.

6. I read a couple of weeks ago it was producing 80,000 barrels a day. |
Imagine that kind of production without even a pump.
