2. Does Dick Morris actually get paid for that drivel?

Now I know why I avoid the NY Post at all costs. I can barely contain myself from berating people I see reading it on the train in the morning.

The rebuttal was good, but it barely scratched the surface of Morris's historical revisionism, preferring instead to focus on the completely unsubstantiated claims he made in his "article". For instance, voters in Spain did not turn against the ruling Popular Party in favor of the Socialists immediately after the train bombing -- rather, it was in response to the government's refusal to tell the truth about the perpetrators of the bombing, attempting to pin it on Basque separatists rather than acknowledge that it was perpetrated by al Qaeda.

At least it's good to know that people in SOME countries still expect their governments to be truthful and accountable.

Capitalizing on the End of the Old Republic by ingratiating himself with the Imperial Family.

5. Bush as part of Al Qaeda?
That makes as much sense as Timothy McVeigh being an Iraqi terrorist. Oops, that is just what the Conservatives preached prior to the Iraq invasion, so there may be a grain of truth to it.

6. Alterman wasn't being serious.
Of course Bush isn't part of Al Qaeda, but his points are interesting, and point to the fact that he's a great recruitment tool for Al-Qaeda, and is satisfying them immensely.

12. Reference to Timothy McVeigh
I guess I should give you some history here. On MSNBC, there use to be a show called "The Nachman Show" and Joe Scarbourough guest hosted periodically. During one of the guest hostings, there was a debate between a pro-war Conservative and an anti-war Liberal. I remember this because it happened on a Tuesday before the Wednesday Hardball University series which I will get to later. In any case, the Conservative guest raised the issue that Timothy McVeigh got assistance from Saddam Hussein to blowup the Oklahoma City Federal Building. When he said that, I immediately thought that the Conservative guest implied that Timothy McVeigh was an Iraqi terrorist which was a stupid idea being promoted. As far as I am concerned, people who promote stupid ideas are stupid; but, the Liberal guest made the mistake of calling the Conservative guest stupid in front of Scarbourough. Joe Scarbourough immediately jumped all over the Liberal guest for calling the Conservative guest stupid and ignored the fact that the statement was stupid. Not once afterwards was the Conservative guest corrected although the statement was repeated several times afterwards. As a result, I concluded that Joe Scarbourough added and abetted in the misinformation about Iraqi terrorism in this country to help the pro-war side of the issue. Joe Scarbourough may not have said the words and can claim having not said the words; but, not correcting the statement and inserting misdirection into the argument, he is just as guilt of the promotion as if he said the words.
Which bring us to the Hardball show with Chris Matthew. On this particular evening, one of the subjects to come up was the misinformation about Saddam Hussein's operations in this country and his connection to 11Sep01. Coincidentally, Joe Scarbourough was sitting just to Chris Matthew's right (sort of appropriate) and I wanted to be there so as to point out what Joe Scarbourough had done just the day before. It would have been very apropos to embarrass Joe Scarbourough to no end.
That is what I was referencing Timothy McVeigh about in my tongue and cheek statement. I figure if Conservatives can make an argument of Timothy McVeigh being an Iraqi terrorist, I can make an argument of Shrubby being an Al Qaeda terrorist. I will admit that sometimes my humor is a little too droll.
