Fox News moron wants to open gay bar next to the Park51 mosque
Right wing-nut Greg Gutfeld wants to build a gay bar for Muslim gays next to the mosque planned a few blocks from ground-zero. He dead pans his explanation about starting a dialog in a "bid for understanding and tolerance".

He claims it is no joke and that he already has financial backers.

If this isn't the dictionary definition of asshole, I don't know what is.

Of course the real reason he's proposing this (he'll likely never actually get it off the ground) is to piss off Muslims. I'm surprised the uneducated dickhead didn't propose opening up a dog pound next to the mosque to really kick things up a notch.

Even if he could get something going, no one would go there. Gay bars are pretty much on their way out as people become more accepting. It would be like opening a music store selling 8-track tapes.

1. Well, Ted Haggard and Larry David need somewhere to go
when they visit NY so maybe it's a good idea after all!

2. I think you meant Larry Craig

5. Actually, I think that's kind of clever.
Even if it did come from a Fox moron.

6. I always suggest a BBQ resturant
but that gets people around here upset.

I suggest that and other provocative measure as the proper response to mock the nonsense that is islam. I use other means for other groups.

7. Now why doesn't he have the right to open a bar?
Lotta bars in the area. Not sure if he'd actually be able to attract a gay clientele, but his attempts might be entertaining.

8. I thnk he makes a good point.
How much do you wanna bet that this mosque preaches gays are evil, women should wear burkas, abortion should be illegal, etc , etc, etc...

Theyre no different from the religious right. I dont despise them any less.

10. I don't agree.
Feisal Rauf, the imam of the mosque, is a progressive Muslim. Hell, his wife, Daisy Khan, doesn't even wear a hijab -- why do you think he'd be preaching women wear burkas?

13. Do you actually think this "progressive" Muslim
would preach any tolerance towards gays at all? Show me a link to any Islamic teachings that are not full of hate towards non hetro lifestyles.

clear message that American Muslims are not lost in a medieval backwater, that they don't march lockstep with intolerant Muslims. I imagine Irshad Manji would be supportive of such a move.

11. Actually, I kind'a like the idea...but let's think bigger
Gay bar on one side, strip club on the other. Across the street a synagogue, Mormon church, Jehovah's Witness center.
Let's all be tolerant together.

Hell, I'd pay money just to stand on the sidewalk and watch the going's on!!!
