Birther Queen Orly Taitz Smacked Down By Supreme Court

Birther Queen Orly Taitz Smacked Down By Supreme Court On $20,000 'Frivolous' Litigation Fine

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court has upheld a $20,000 fine against a leader of the movement challenging President Barack Obama's citizenship.

The high court on Monday refused to block a federal judge's October 2009 ruling that required California lawyer and dentist Orly Taitz to pay the $20,000 fine for filing a "frivolous" litigation. The judge said Taitz attempted to misuse the federal courts to push a political agenda.

Taitz sued in Georgia federal court on behalf of Army Capt. Connie Rhodes. Rhodes sought to avoid deployment to Iraq by claiming Obama wasn't born in the United States.

Justice Samuel Alito on Monday rejected Taitz's second request to block the sanctions. Justice Clarence Thomas had rejected the request earlier.

1. Maybe, one of these days, she'll finally get the message?
Wouldn't that be nice?

2. How is Oily even allowed to practice law in Georgia?
Considering the matchbook law school she got her degree from isn't even accredited? I heard there was some special exemption in California that allowed her to practice there, but how did she get approved to even fight a parking ticket in Georgia?

On a related topic- how does she even have a law practice to begin with? Would anybody in their right mind want this woman representing them?

4. Pro hac vice
An attorney wanting to practice in a jurisdiction in which s/he is not licensed must request permission from the court to be able to appear as an attorney of record.
She was supposed to file the pro hac vice motion before arguing the case.

I'm not sure that she even did that. I'm hoping that she will be disbarred.

5. There are some states that allow
law school graduates from state university law schools to be admitted to the bar w/ their diploma. West Virginia is one such state, as well as a couple in the south. Attorneys from these states are usually not held in high regard. Any attorney wanting to practice in California has to pass the California bar. There are no 'special' exemptions. How she passed the California bar is beyond my comprehension. Only the New York bar exam is, by reputation, said to be more difficult to pass than California's. But she did have to pass it regardless of which matchbook or magazine ad she used.

7. A lot of people aren't in their right minds
Gee Dubya Frat Boy left office with a 20% approval rating. About that many (the same ones, no doubt) think Madame Mooseburger would make a good president.

3. So there, Orly, even members of the so-dubbed felonious five are not going there, so wake up,
smell the coffee and, for God's sake and your own, get a life! :P

Orly NEEDS to stop the bullshit. I doubt if she will get the picture and stop it completely, but maybe she will at least slow down a bit.
