Own up, Governor: Race to the Top error was New Jersey's, not Obama's
In Ridgewood yesterday, golfer Jim Furyk was disqualified from The Barclays tournament because he arrived five minutes late, a misstep that could ultimately cost him $10 million.

“I’ve got no one to blame but myself,” he said.

For contrast, flash to the governor’s painful performance in Trenton, where he tried to dance away from his team’s $400 million error by blaming President Obama.

“He’s going to have to explain to the people of state of New Jersey why he’s depriving them of $400 million,” the governor said.

Let’s start with the obvious: Obama is not the villain here, any more than he is a Muslim. The mistake was New Jersey’s.

The Christie administration, seeking $400 million through the federal Race to the Top initiative, failed to supply needed information on state education spending. The panel of reviewers took away five points for it, out of a total of 500. That was enough to push us into 11th place, and to give Ohio the final chunk of money.

It may have been the most expensive clerical error in the history of mankind.

1. The filing for Race To The Top was the Governor's error.
Race To The Top was Obama's error.

3. Me personally...
I think it's rather sadistic to make 50 states compete for dollars that every state needs.

Which state couldn't use educational dollars? I am sorry. The educational policies of this administration SMELL just as badly as the Bush policies. He's not Bush. But, on education, the policies suck just the same to me.

It's almost like having 3 kids and telling them..."Hey, I'll feed the one that gets to the dinner table first."

4. This isn't a game
Why should NJ students be deprived of NEEDED funds, because of what amounts to a clerical error?

Why should the taxpayers be deprived of NEEDED funds, because of a clerical error?

My BIL lives in NJ, and he pays $11,0000.00 PER YEAR in property taxes. That's outrageous. He doesn't need to pay more, just because of a bureaucratic screw-up, regardless of whose fault it is.

Do you think it's possible that this is PUNISHMENT for NJ going GOP in the last election??? (And that would be outrageous, too, IMO.)

Sorry--I'm with Christie on this one.

5. I wouldn't be with Christie no matter what the circumstances
I was born and raised here and I'll probably die here, and this piece of shit is the worst joke of a governor in 2 generations.
