Christian Right Responds to Beck Pushing Mormonism
Glenn Beck's decision to start pushing Mormon history on his show has some of his usual supporters seeing red. Brannon Howse of the ultra-wingnut Worldview Matters didn't like that at all:

On his radio show last week, Brannon Howse of Worldview Matters accused Glenn Beck of "bait and switch" tactics to bring Christians together into a coalition on shared goals and then draw them into Mormonism by using manipulative double language. "He's setting up a conspiracy theory of hidden truths showing this to be a Mormon Christian country."
Howse has been a big supporter of Beck, especially as he has presented the lies of David Barton, who works with Howse's organization as well.

Then on his show on Wednesday, Beck discussed an obscure archeological find, the Bat Creek Stone, that Beck believes has been hidden from the public by the Smithsonian Institution and others because it is evidence of ties between ancient Israel and Native Americans -- which, although Beck did not say this explicitly, would also be evidence for claims (albeit recently disputed within the LDS Church) made in the Book of Mormon. Howse, on his radio show, said he was "stunned" to hear Beck "laying down Mormon teaching" and "when started talking about the Bat Creek Stone. . . . I didn't stay with it, it was just too weird." (While Howse presented no evidence that Mormons have used the Bat Creek Stone to promote such a view, Beck's use of it was characteristically wacky, as the theory he promoted has long been discredited by archeologists.) Howse continued:

2. I thought all christians had the same god??
Gee now they can not even decide on which god that they want to run this country .....
What are we going to do?? How do I know which god to vote for .....
how do I tell the false god from the real god??

I just love this christian tolerance, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

5. Mormons are as much Christians as Muslim's are
Both believe in Jesus, but follow later prophets. (or in Beck's case profits)

If Judaism is One God 1.0, Christians believe that Christianity is One God 2.0 and both Mormons and Muslims believe that their faith is One God 3.0

6. No, they're definitely Christians
Mormons do indeed believe that Christ was the son of God, and was the Messiah, etc. They just think that his message was corrupted by the early church, and that God visited Joseph Smith to restore the true church as Christ intended.

Of course, they also believe that the ancient Israelites migrated to North America, built giant cities, fought wars, and then somehow erased all this from archaeological history. And all the Native Americans turned dark because they were bad. And that God lives on a planet called Kolob. (or a planet orbiting a star called Kolob, I don't recall which.)

Honestly, it's just a crazy sect of Christianity that has gotten massive.

7. I'd go one step further and say they are less christian
due to their beliefs about god being an actual physical man who had physical sex with Mary, etc.

8. "But he's right about everything else"
I have no respect for people like this idiot Howse. He feels like all the rest of Beck's ravings are just fine

11. Glen Beck presents "The Mormon Hour" followed by Greta presenting "The Scientology Hour"
And all produced and funded by an Australian and a Saudi Muslim Prince to slobbering unemployed, working class resentful white Christians who are sharing macaroni and beer and stewing in their hatred of gays, lesbians, unions, blacks, mexicans, immigrants, Muslims and Democrats.

What a soup Fox has for an audience.
