Steve Lopez: Hammering Whitman on her failure to vote could be a winner for Brown
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2010/09/steve-lopez-hammering-meg-whitman-on-her-failure-to-vote-could-be-a-winner-for-jerry-brown.html

One of Jerry Brown's better lines at a Labor Day labor rally Monday morning was a jab at GOP rival Meg Whitman.

The Democratic candidate said he is not scripted and is not an advertisement; he is a lifelong resident of California.

And, he added, "Not only have I lived here, I've voted here all my life."

Brown will no doubt hammer Whitman on that point over and over during the two-month sprint to Election Day.

4. Whitman's main tactic against Brown is as old as the hills.
Her two fold approach to Brown has been:

One) to lie about his abilities and actions in the past

Two) to whine and complain that he doesn't have a plan.

Well Meg - just what is your plan? For whatever reason, despite her ads running 24/7, she hasn't had the time to express what her plan happens to be. (Maybe she will put the entire state of California up for grabs on E Bay?)

I think there is plenty of hay for Brown to use to attack her and to defend himself.

Four - great to meet another Shags fan here at DU. (In fact you are the only other Shaggs fan I have met at DU)

So what if they couldn't play guitar? What if the drummer spent twelve songs searching for the beat? There are worse sins, like the inability to express oneself, a flaw which The Shaggs don't possess. Their language is naively direct, silly, and serious at the same time. But more than that, their priorities are right. Mike Walsh

7. It's actually pretty interesting how often
a Republican candidate for office was not registered to vote and/or didn't bother to vote for several election cycles prior to deciding to run for office. In Kansas we had that several times in recent years. Including, as I recall, an attorney general (this clown actually won, which tells you how sad Kansas voters are)who'd let his legal license lapse more than once.

8. It wasn't for her GOP opponent....
If that is what Brown is going after then he might just as well give up.

Poizner tried to ram that shit down people's throats and nobody gave a flying fuck about that.

He had better come upwith something and something way better than this old tired news or he is going to lose and lose big.
