No Wonder We May Lose the House: ConservaDems Afraid to Vote on Obama Tax Cuts!
No wonder there is an enthuisiasm gap:

Congressional Democrats are confronting deep divisions in their nervous ranks over whether to support President Barack Obama's plan to raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans – or just punt the entire matter until after voters go to the polls Nov. 2.

Democratic leaders committed to Obama's proposal were to hear Wednesday from endangered lawmakers who fear that raising taxes on anyone in a weak economy could be politically lethal.

"Don't raise taxes in a recession," said Rep. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D.

Obama Tax Cuts Plan Has House Democrats Deeply Divided

TomP's diary :: ::
When Democrats are afraid to give a tax break to the middle class while raising taxes on the rich just slightly, they signal cowardice. This is not President Obama's fault: he's doing the right thing. This is a few chickenshit Democrat House members peeing in their pants because rich people might be taxed.

I am sick of these fucking cowards. Pomeroy can go fuck himself.

You ask for our votes and to work our asses off, and then cannot even support your own president? Cannot even do the POPULAR thing?

If the rich get their tax breaks continued, it will be the end of any Democratic majorities. Cowardice does not get votes. Running away until after the election does not get votes.

We need to do exactly what the teabaggers are doing. In 2012 we need to run REAL Democrats with spines against all the DINOs in our primaries! Fuck this shit!

2. it doesn't help to call these people afraid
Pomeroy is a Blue Dog, he wants the tax cuts. He's not afraid of anything. He's on the other side of the issue.

6. I call BS on "afraid". The Millionaire Senators have taken a stand.
If they don't get their tax cuts, nobody does. Pure and Simple.

I watched Millionaire Senator Ben Nelson hold his breath, turn blue and throw a tantrum. It was all about him, and what he wants. A tax cut.

7. You do know
they are not tax cuts or raising taxes! The republicans set these cuts up to expire in 2011, this would restore the tax levels to where they originally were. It was done under reconciliation to avoid having to pay for it in the hopes that by 2012 it would not matter. We are being lied to about what really happened here. I think they should be renamed as the Obama Tax relief for the middle class.

8. It's not RAISING taxes -- it's extending tax cuts for the poor and middle class.
If the bluedogs vote against the plan, they are voting AGAINST TAX CUTS for most Americans. No vote is needed to end the tax cuts for the wealthy.

9. Don't they ever do anything just because it's the right thing to do?
It is sickening that we can't get things done because there's 'an election coming up'. There are elections every two years. When do just do what is right for a change? And these members of Congress should be willing to lose their seats in order to do what is right. What a concept. The truth is they probably wouldn't.

And who are they worried about? What Republican is ever going to vote for them anyhow? This is just a cover for not raising taxes on the rich. I am sure those Democrats are being lobbied hard not to do so.
