The Tea Party isn't a movement, it's a syndrome.
It's a manifestation of a well known human weakness for avoiding dealing with problems. In the least it's a foible. In the acute stage, it's not a sign of health. In the worst case it involves a flight from reality, a preference for delusion and self indulgent fantasies.

All this talk of being a populist movement is so much bullshit. The dissimulation is meant to hide the intent to return to a vanishing, incompetent government ala that of the Shrub, Cheney's puppet and reinstating the corporate suzerainty that got us into the mess the adherents claim to be so much against.

1. democrats have completely failed to label it and control the message about it -
dems keep using repub memes by even calling it the "tea party" as it should always be referred to as the republican tea baggers party.

it is a totally racist phemomenon as these people made NO complaints when the same policies were perpertrated by the white Bush administration.....

Dems have allowed the tea party crowd to be portrayed as a viable non republican alternative.

oh well

4. Syndrome or Movement
Its fear-mongering is a big distraction from holding the Democratic Party (still majorities in the House and Senate) and the Obama Administration accountable for their past two years piss-poor performance of ass-kissing to big business and the military industrial complex.

8. Rather than give criticism a real hearing they prefer to categorize and discount you as part of the
"professional left". It's pretty dissappointing to hear a Democratic administration engage in such a contemptible, cowardly practice as simplifying & categorizing and thus (they hope) invalidating a line of thought/criticism.

It's not a good sign. Sort of like 'famous last words'.

They better 'wake up' before it's over. ... may already be too late. (only about 60 days till election day)

thanks for your observation. I only wish the people who needed to pay attention were listening.

I try to defend their actions from attack from the other side, but that doesn't mean I'm in complete agreement with them. Republicans try to say nothing has been accomplished. Of course, that's not true. THey just want to get in to do more for their Corporate owners/controllers. So I defend them against attack from the totally unprincipled Corporate lobbyist party.

If the Republicans regain power, it will be a disaster for our country.

9. So when the liberal media gives constant coverage to the Tea Party does that mean...
that the media was never liberal? Ignore them and join The Green Tea Movement!
