Of mice and men! Maureen Dowd could not let Christine O’Donnell’s old remarks about monkey’s and evolution and mice with human brains pass her by. In today’s column she picks up on both as well as Bill Maher’s concern that these remarks by O’Donnell are far more worrisome than her witchcraft dabbling: “She could be in a position to make decisions about scientific issues, like global warming and stem cells.” Alas, as MoDo points out O’Donnell is far from alone in her aversion to science.

We seem beset with spellbinding hybrids with the looks of Fox News anchors, the brains of mice and the power of changing the direction of the country.

Perhaps needless to say Sarah Palin (and her wolf hunting) are tops on MoDo’s list, but she is not alone: “Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, John Boehner, Jim DeMint and some Tea Party types don’t merely yearn for the country they idealize from the 1950s. They want to go back to the 1750s.”

Also not surprising MoDo blames President Obama:

President Obama was supposed to be a giant leap forward in modernity, the brainy, rational first black president leading us out of the scientific darkness of the W. years. But by letting nutters get a foothold, he may usher us into the past.

And thinks all this backward thinking may come back to bite Christine O’Donnell: “Evolution is no myth, but we may be evolving backward. Christine O’Donnell had better hope they don’t bring back witch burning.”

She's even more worthless than Chris Matthews, and that's saying something.


After having catapulted the "Gore is effeminate" and "Kerry is an elitist" propaganda, Dowd has no basis for criticizing any media outlet.

I didn't post Dowd's article.

I posted an article that slammed Dowd's journalistic stance.

Big difference. It wasn't about providing Dowd with a forum on DU to spew her shit. It was about exposing her article as shit, pure and simple.

I know that I'm probably wrong here, but it sounds more like a game of "Lets blame the black dude." If we had just elected a white man, Republican racist nutcases would not have gone off the deep end. Clearly it was Obama's fault for McCain doddering into senility and nominating Palin for VP. And, Obama has put up billionaire oilmen and Dick Armie (that name is a perfect description) to create the Teabaggers to destroy America from the inside so the rest of us will beg cryptoMuslims to take over.
