The GOP obstructs, people suffer: It's dangerous partisanship from the Republicans

Everything you need to know about the cynical tactics of delay and obstruction being practiced by congressional Republicans is contained in a startling investigation by The Associated Press that hit the wires yesterday.

With a million Haitians still living on the streets of Port-au-Prince amid heaps of uncleared rubble nine months after a devastating earthquake, the AP reports that "not a cent of the $1.15 billion the U.S. promised for rebuilding has arrived."

Both houses of Congress approved the billion for rebuilding and creating temporary shelter for Haitians.

But a necessary followup vote on how to disburse the money has never taken place because a single lawmaker - Republican Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma (above) - placed a secret hold on the bill for "further study."

2. The word secret is the clue
they do these things and try to keep in covered that they are the culprits and not the administration. They are the lowest bunch of scum this country has ever produced. AND if just one branch of the MSM would start reporting on the filthy stuff they are doing to this country they wouldn't last long in office.

There is not enough scum, to support this filth. Even some of the republicans would be hard pressed to approve of what they are doing. Since both senators from OK are the same, all you can say is what in the hell kind of people live in THAT state to elect them. Isn't that where McVey was from.

3. I swear, if we hold the Senate next year
then we need to force through serious rule changes. And the opening of a new Congress is the one time the Senate can do it because then we only need 50 votes plus Biden to do things like get rid of (or severely restrict) the filibuster, do away with these holds, etc.

And best of all? A few of the worst of the obstructionists (Landrieu and Lincoln) will be gone so we won't need to rely on them as part of our 50.

5. Coburn is one of the vilest members of a vile political party.
Don't forget that he is one of the key members of the C Street coven known as "The Family", where he spends a great deal of time and taxpayer dollars trying to convert foreign tyrants to Christianity.
