3. That's why Kasich's poll numbers have been as strong as they've been. |
|
Kasich has been able to keep his ideology and record under the radar during this campaign season. The media generally portray him as this folksy, "I'm just like you" kind of candidate. That can't be farther from the truth.
Ohio's economy sucks, so, they're blaming it on the incumbent Strickland. Somehow, Ohio voters seem to forget that Ohio was in a mess before Strickland took office and was run by Republican governors for 16 straight years. In addition, Republicans had controlled both houses of the legislature for 14 straight years and every elected cabinet position for 12.
Then comes John Kasich. Before screwing investors during his years at Lehman Bros., Kasich was a little-known congressman from suburban Columbus.
You can trace most of this country's economic problems to three things--lack of regulation in our financial markets, trade agreements that outsource our jobs, and tax policies that skew the lion's share of the benefits to the rich. Kasich was an outspoken supporter for all three of those things.
Oh, and we can thank Kasich for spawning the political career of media pundit Ron Christie. He was a horse's ass when he was on Kasich's staff and he's gotten worse since.
So, according to polls, Ohioans apparently want to revert back to what got us into the mess in the first place.

5. Kasich is running TV ads saying that Strickland moved jobs out of the US |
|
while he himself has a long record of supporting outsourcing. Just another cowardly right-wing closet queen letting hate radio spread his lies.
