Tiffany Profits Jump 27%; BUFFETT BUYS FROM TIFFANY



Tiffany is benefiting from the return of upper-end customers who were scarce during the recession but have returned now that the stock market has rebounded and other measures of their wealth are improving. But the less affluent are still relatively scarce.

BUFFETT BUYS FROM TIFFANY


Half of the $250 million in debt Tiffany is selling to Berkshire will mature in 2017, and the rest two years later, according to the filing. Proceeds will be used for refinancing existing debt and unspecified corporate purposes.
