The Prophecy/Conspiracy Genre - Using End Times Prophecy to Mainstream New World Order Narratives

Part One - God TV's "Apocalypse & The End Times," is an example of how New World Order conspiracy theories are being marketed to millions as end times prophecy.
The danger of New World Order narratives is not the criticism of government and institutions like the Federal Reserve, but the use of grand conspiracy ideology in their attacks. In this context "grand" refers to conspiracies which claim that a secretive, centuries-old and centralized cabal of "Illuminati" continuously manipulates the world. The prophecy/conspiracy genre cloaks this in millennial terminology, claiming that the Illuminati's assault on "true" Christianity is paving the way for the one-world government of the Antichrist. As in narratives of the past, Jews, Jesuits, and Freemasons are again being scapegoated as the source of the claimed Illuminati cabal.



In 2004, Michael Barkun stated,"Prior to the early 1990s, New World Order conspiracism was limited to two subcultures, primarily the militantly anti-government right, and secondarily Christian fundamentalists concerned with end-time emergence of the Antichrist." Since the early 1990s tales of the New World Order have been continuously marketed to millions of Americans through end times prophecy media.
Have you heard about the concentration camps for imprisoning Christian patriots? Or the global elites who are planning to reduce the population of the world by a third while they have new body parts for themselves developed in underground laboratories? Know about the demonic cabal behind the Federal Reserve and their plan to intentionally destroy the U.S. dollar? While the references to Jews, Jesuits, Freemasons, and others are often more subtle, the usual targets are again described as being behind these conspiracies.

Some of the worst paranoid conspiracy theories seen in generations are being marketed as end times prophecy. Over the last few years, writers at Talk2action have written repeatedly about this reemergence of 1920s and 1930s type conspiracy theories, tracking the growth of the prophecy/conspiracy genre since the early 1990s.

Previous articles on Talk2action have featured The Prophecy Club, which was very active in the 1990s and is still marketing videos. The Prophecy Club is headed by Apostle Stan Johnson and is advertised as featuring "over 130 of America's best watchmen and prophets." For example in The Prophecy Club marketed video "Imminent Military Takeover of the U.S.A. II," Ret. Col. Jim Ammerman outlines this demonic cabal which he claims manipulates the world with the goal of forming a New World Order. He shows the audience a graph which he claims to track the infiltration of the United States by a continuous conspiracy dating back to Lucifer's fall from heaven:

In the video (clip below) Ammerman explains that eight families pull the strings through their control of central banks around the world.

The Rothschilds with offices in London and Berlin, the Lazard brothers in Paris, Israel Seif of Italy, Kuhn Loeb Company of Germany, the Warburgs with offices in Hamburg and Amsterdam in the Netherlands and the last three are all interlocked - Lehman Brothers of New York, Goldman Sachs of New York, and Rockefeller of New York."

1. Part Two: The Prophecy/Conspiracy Genre

"Chronicle of Brothers," by God TV co-founder and host Wendy Alec, is another example of the mainstreaming of New World Order conspiracy theories in the guise of end times prophecy.
Part One of this article is about the growth of the prophecy/conspiracy genre and the mainstreaming of grand conspiracy theories claiming that a cabal of super elite are advancing a "New World Order" in preparation for the reign of the Antichrist. An example is the fictional (but end times prophecy-based) series Chronicle of Brothers by self-proclaimed "prophet" Wendy Alec. In the series written by the God TV host, the events of 9/11 were not orchestrated by Osama bin Laden and terrorists, but by the "Secret Illuminati Council of 13" headed by a Jesuit priest.



God TV was launched in 1995 from the U.K. by South African couple Rory and Wendy Alec. The network claims to reach a half billion people in North America, Africa, Asia, Europe and Australia. Broadcast from Jerusalem since 2002, the founders claim they have a "divine mandate to win one billion souls."
Wendy Alec is the author of Journal of the Unknown Prophet and claims to have had a visitation from Jesus through which she was shown visions of the future. She is also author of the ongoing series of fiction books titled the Chronicle of Brothers. The books are published by Warboys Publishing, Ltd., in London, founded in 2001 and thus far publishing only Wendy Alec's books. The series juxtaposes narratives of modern times with Lucifer's fall from heaven and biblical-based stories. When Lucifer realizes that humans are being given God's DNA, he goes into a rage of envy and finds a way to pollute the human race with his own DNA. An array of demonic characters including the Dread Warlocks of Ishtar, Black Magi, Demon Witches of Babylon, Shaman Kings and interact with the "Race of Humans" in both biblical times and the present.

The narrative parallels widespread New World Order conspiracy theories. The following passage is from the closing pages of Messiah: The First Judgment and introduces the next book in the series, Son of Perdition. The scene takes place on September 10, 2001 as the Jesuit priest Lorcan DeMolay contemplates the events planned for 9/11. De Molay is looking over the Council of 13 Illuminati:


"He surveyed the men seated before him. The Council of Thirteen, the highest orders of the Committee of 300, the Black Nobility of Venice. The Supreme Mother Council of the of the thirty-third-degree masons of the Scottish Rite.
He scanned the faces of the chairman of the Club of Rome, the Federal Reserve, the Bilderberger Group, the International Monetary Fund, the Bohemian Grove, the Lucius Trust, his gaze finally resting on the Frater Superior and Grand Tribunal of the Ordo Templi Orienti.

The Grand Masters of the Illuminati.

The secret Illuminati who controlled the American government.

Who controlled every government of the Eastern and Western world.

Who in turn were controlled by him.

Lorcan De Molay."


Note that the wording is slightly different in Son of Peridition than the preview at the end of Messiah: The First Judgement.
