Joe Lieberman: Democrats’ man of the hour
It’s been a while for Sen. Joe Lieberman, but tonight, he’s Democrats’ man of the hour.

The Democrat-turned-independent from Connecticut drove the repeal of the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy from sponsorship to the final push across the finish line in a 65-31 vote today, winning over liberal hearts, at least for the moment.

3. Joe Lieberman is not a Democrat, he is an Independent
and he was only one vote in this effort. It is not unlike Joe Lieberman to try to hog all the credit from all the activists, Housemembers, Senators and others who have worked for twenty years for this result. Joe Lieberman was just one vote, and only gets one vote's credit worth of it. Lamont would have voted the same way and been more helpful on many other bills.

5. This cynical little fuck is worried about getting re-elected so he's
trying to get back in the good graces with Dems and (real) Independents with his theater on DADT. This treasonous little turncoat has the principles of an alley cat (no offense intended to alley cats).

9. meanwhile, he supported McCain for President
let's not forget about that. and if McCain had won, this issue would never have advanced.

Lieberman is thinking about his own re-election. Opposing the repeal of DADT would not have been good for him in Connecticut. Let's not make him into something he is not. DADT was repealed in spite of many efforts by Lieberman, not because of it.
