HILARIOUS - "My 2 cents" on the moderate Republicans "No Label Party"
The new No Labels Party is made up of different groups of people — which ironically enough was the same recipe for Soylent Green.

The staving cow eating the fat cow.

It is made of people.

That is what that is saying.

There is a belief that the supernatural includes 'people' with thoughts on bad and good effects from that.

But never satisfied when not being able to find love.

Satisfaction.

2. These folks have been squeezed out of governing . . .
By the lunatics now running the asylum. They had to end up somewhere. No, they're not relevant now, but at least they get to keep their engines turning over in case sanity breaks out in their party.

"it makes me think this is essentially another Republican front group with added bonus of immediately labeling anyone not part of their group as an unreasonable partisan."

Perhaps she has read George Lakoff: Disaster Messaging.
http://www.truth-out.org/disaster-messaging61170

Democrats are constantly resorting to disaster messaging. Here's a description of the typical situation:

* The Republicans out-message the Democrats. The Democrats, having no effective response, face disaster: They lose politically, either in electoral support or failure on crucial legislation.
* The Democrats then take polls and do focus groups. The pollsters discover that extremist Republicans control the most common ("mainstream") way of thinking and talking about the given issue.
* The pollsters recommend that Democrats move to the right: adopt conservative Republican language and a less extreme version of conservative policy, along with weakened versions of some Democratic ideas.
* The Democrats believe that, if they follow this advice, they can gain enough independent and Republican support to pass legislation that, at least, will be some improvement on the extreme Republican position.
* Otherwise, the pollsters warn, Democrats will lose popular support - and elections - to the Republicans, because mainstream thought and language resides with the Republicans.
* Believing the pollsters, the Democrats change their policy and their messaging and move to the right.
* The Republicans demand even more and refuse to support the Democrats.

We have seen this on issues like health care, immigration, global warming, finance reform, and so on. We are seeing it again on the Death Gusher in the Gulf. It happens even with a Democratic president and a Democratic majority in both houses of Congress.

6. I have seen this first hand with Planned Parenthood who refuses to go into
public debate with Right to LIfers. They just don't.

I used to try to argue with them, but they were stalwart and insular in their thinking. They walled themselves off from the general public, refusing to answer the most hideous of accusations (so as not to "dignify" them). The result is more and more belief in the lies of the the RW about contraception, abortion and sex education.

It is sad, really sad....

7. As with liberals, progressives and (D)s, Planned Parenthood has no media outlet...
working on their behalf - and only their behalf. Any statement they would or could make would be vilified by the MSM, as the MSM works with the fascists to divide U.S..

I feel for you, and agree with you, but it's better to work in the background on some issues.

Learned people know that PP isn't (at all) about "abortions for everyone", but it's better to keep a low profile, lest you attract too much bad attention and are prevented from providing necessary, lifesaving services to women and children.

9. I would agree with that EXCEPT that when I raised money for PP of CT
I can't tell you how many donors told me that it was a shame that more people didn't know about the great work PP was doing in prevention of disease and unplanned pregnancies AND in sex education for women, men and teens...they thought we could raise LOTS more money if people were more generally aware of this. And I heard this from very wealthy people in places like New Canaan, CT, not exactly a backwater with ignorant people...

It would be great if PP would at least get the word out on their life saving services that PREVENT unplanned pregnancies...how to talk to your kids about sex, all the services that PP health centers provide that people don't know about (often primary care e.g. blood pressure screening).

Yet this goes unsung. And the RW wins the day because so many people don't know about PP's excellent work or that a mere 5% of what it does is abortion related. In fact, PP as an organization has done more to prevent abortions than any other group!

I truly do understand why there is the bunker mentality, the perennial us against them. It's been a long battle. But we do win in the court of public opinion when we are brave and get out the message of hope, prevention, and help for people (not just teens) to make healthy choices in their lives...

4. funny that this is considered a republican group when so many Dem moderates
are listed as *founders* on their site. I'll bet dollars to donuts that this is yet another millionaire funded front group to further fracture any sort of movement that might really shake shit up in Washington.

Financing

As of November 24, 2010, No Labels had raised over $1 million. Major backers include Andrew Tisch, Co-Chairman of Loews Corporation; Ron Shaich, founder of Panera Bread; and Dave Morin, former executive at Facebook.

Andrew Tisch is the co-chair of Loews Corporation, the company founded by his father and uncle. Together with his brother, James S. Tisch, and his first cousin, Jonathan Tisch, Andrew oversees a holding company involved in hotels, oil, and insurance.

10. Soylent Green ---
One of our most vocal and strident neighborhood teabaggers is convinced that Obama is determined to turn senior citizens into Soylent Green. She tends to go into screaming fits when challenged on the subject. Oy.
