How come they haven't stopped anyone for their nitroglycerin heart medication? As you can read in the article, their 'ususually shaped buttocks' scam didn't hold up for a second, so they had to claim they found traces of nitrates. You'll find traces of nitrates in vegetables, drinking water, and cured meats (and people who consume these things), so they should be finding them all the time.
The problem with security theater is that it is generally incompetently directed, badly acted melodrama.
