I went to FoxNews site tried to post comment. It locked up on me.

Went to NBCnews posted there:

"We should thank the GOP and FoxNews for this madness. All the insane rhetroric of the GOP has created hysteria in the weak minds of our populace. The GOP with this fanatical rhetoric incited this crime. THey must take responsibility for this womans execution."

.... a great day for the GOP!! If you can't vote them out just have a hysterical twit kill them.

The Pima County, Arizona, sheriff’s office confirmed Ms. Giffords’ death. The 40-year Democrat was holding an event outside of the Safeway when a gunman opened fire on a number of people including Ms. Giffords.

3. JUST STOP IT!
One of our congresspeople is either dead or critically ill. Can't we as a people just stop this blame game that is constantly played? It is not a right wing or left wing thing. It's a criminal act.

I am so disgusted that there is even one post like this. Disgusted!

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/plum-line/2010/06/sharron_angle_floated_possibil.html">Sharron Angle floated possibility of armed insurrection -WaPo

Here's another one that could be tough for Sharron Angle to explain away: In an interview in January, Angle appeared to float the possibility of armed insurrection if "this Congress keeps going the way it is."

I'm not kidding. In an interview she gave to a right-wing talk show host, Angle approvingly quoted Thomas Jefferson saying it's good for a country to have a revolution every 20 years -- and said that if Congress keeps it up, people may find themselves resorting to "Second Amendment remedies."

What's more, the talk show host she spoke to tells me he doesn't have any doubt that she was floating the possibility of armed insurrection as a valid response if Congress continues along its current course.

Asked by the host, Lars Larson of Portland, Oregon, where she stands on Second Amendment issues, Angle replied:

"You know, our Founding Fathers, they put that Second Amendment in there for a good reason and that was for the people to protect themselves against a tyrannical government. And in fact Thomas Jefferson said it's good for a country to have a revolution every 20 years.

I hope that's not where we're going, but, you know, if this Congress keeps going the way it is, people are really looking toward those Second Amendment remedies and saying my goodness what can we do to turn this country around? I'll tell you the first thing we need to do is take Harry Reid out."
- (my emphasis_JW)

Sharon Angle was running for the Senate in Arizona.

9. House Democrats Face Violent Threats After Health Care Vote - Mar 24, 2010
http://abcnews.go.com/WN/house-democrats-face-violent-threats-health-care-vote/story?id=10193618

At least 10 House Democrats who voted for the health care overhaul legislation have received violent threats to their lives or property, party leaders said today. (Lyndsay Stauble/Sedgwick County Democratic PartyHandout)Several members have faced death threats and harassing phone calls while others have experienced vandalism at district offices or their private homes.

In one case, a gas line was cut outside the Virginia home of Rep. Tom Perriello's brother after a conservative activist posted the address online, mistakenly thinking it was the congressman's house. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating.

Sedgwick County Democratic Party headquarters in Wichita, Kan.,
was vandalized today, one day after the signing of the health care reform bill.

"All threats and incidents directed against members of Congress are taken seriously and are being investigated …to identify and bring to justice those responsible," said FBI spokesman Paul Bresson.

There is no room for Palin style politics in any country. I hope the gunman implicates her.

11. Arizona Rep. Giffords shot, several wounded July shootout with highway patrol
Arizona Rep. Giffords shot, several wounded

Associated Press

In July, a California man known for his anger over left-leaning politics engaged in a shootout with highway patrol officers after planning an attack on the ACLU and another nonprofit group. The man said he wanted to "start a revolution" by killing people at the ACLU and the Tides Foundation.

Giffords herself has drawn the ire of the right, especially for her support of the health care bill from politicians like Sarah Palin.
Her Tucson office was vandalized a few hours after the House vote to approve the health care law in March, with someone either kicking or shooting out a glass door and window.

WASHINGTON -- People familiar with the investigation tell The Associated Press that the gunman held in the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona and others has been identified as Jared Laughner.

Little information is known immediately about Laughner - such as his background or a possible motive in the attack.

U.S. officials who provided his name to the AP spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release it publicly.

14. We've decided to lock this thread as the latest reports are that Rep. Giffords is still alive.
NPR did report earlier that she was dead, but that is apparently not true.

Thanks for your understanding.
