MediaMatters slams Palin video
Edited on Wed Jan-12-11 07:04 PM by JohnWxy
Palin in true Palin style manages to make an 'appeal to decency' indecent. OF course, it's an appeal from the personage who is also known for such jewels as "Don't retreat, RELOAD." I guess her statement is what you'd call doubling down. There really is no way around the fact that she designated Congressional Districts where Tea-baggers should 'remove' Democrats with Gun-site graphics. I wonder how many ways one can designate a geographical area of interest on a map??

Another thought: does one use a gun on a geographical area, or on a target, that is a piece of paper with concentric circles on it .... or some other "object". Ordinarily it would be making rather too much of the gun-sight graphic....except for the fact she has verbally used fucking gun references be-fucking-for (sorry but I get a little pissed off at the absurdity of disclaiming the importance of the repetitive use of weapon metaphors given this tragic development).

CEO David Brock leads with this argument in his highly critical response to Sarah Palin’s video, offering three examples:

- A man who threatened to firebomb Nancy Pelosi’s house, whose mother said he got his information from Fox News;

- Charles Wilson, who was arrested for repeatedly threatening to kill Sen. Patty Murray, and whose cousin told the court he was influenced by Beck;

- And Byron Williams, the felon who targeted members of the Tides Foundation, who called Beck a “schoolteacher.”

let's not forget Sharon Angle's remark: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/plum-line/2010/06/sharron_angle_floated_possibil.html"> "if this Congress keeps going the way it is, people are really looking toward those Second Amendment remedies..."

..and then there's this cheerful admonition "I'll tell you the first thing we need to do is take Harry Reid out"
