Randy Terry says he's running against Obama in the 2012 Democratic primary
A while back, antiabortion militant Randall Terry announced that he was thinking about running for president in order to be able to place an inflammatory antiabortion ad on TV during the Superbowl. Federal rules make it difficult if not impossible for a station to turn down an ad from a candidate for president. Aside from the question of whether he could pull it off, was the question of whether he would run with an existing political party or as an independent. In the past, he has run for office as a member of the predecessor to the Constitution Party (the U.S. Taxpayers Party), and the Republican Party.
Terry has made his decision, and he says he will run in the Democratic primaries against Barack Obama. Needless to say, Terry has no intention of cooling off of his usual incendiary rhetoric. In his press release announcing a press conference in front of the Holocaust Museum, he called abortion among other things, "genocide" and "massacre of the innocents."

In a press release, he stated:

"My constituency is the millions of pro-life advocates who want to make child killing illegal from conception until birth. My base is those who know that we must show Americans the victims of abortion, in order to restore the full protection of law to unborn babies.
"America has never truly debated child killing, because America has never truly seen child killing. We will use FEC and FCC laws for federal candidates to bring America face to face with this massacre of the innocents.

10. He's an anti-choicer who harassed George Tiller until one of his followers killed him
Terry even moved to Wichita to be close to Tiller. He also was the organizer of the Summer of Mercy (1991?) when anti-choicers from all over the country invaded Wichita to put Dr Tiller out of business.

13. More commonly known as Randall Terry, of Operation Rescue.
Or if one prefers, "Unindicted co-conspirator in the murder of Dr. George Tiller."

8. Why stop it? Let him waste all that anti-choice money.
No way would he ever get the nomination. But we know he'll greatly deplete several bank accounts.

Bring him on.

11. has about as much chance as many mentioned as possible challengers right here.
Thankfully that is none whatsoever.

Of course I fully realize winning is not his intent. I wish others accepted the same about their suggested options too.

12. He could probably win the Republican nomination
so I don't know why he wants to run as a Democrat.

I bet he could finish first or second in the Iowa Republican Caucus. They are all Palin mad, and Huckabee won in 2008.

16. He was a Republican when he lived in St. Johns County, Florida. But, he left (THANK GOD) and moved
elsewhere when he decided that St. Johns County, conservative as it is, was just too too liberal to elect him.

Can't say the area is liberal at all in any sense of the word. St. Johns County was just too too savvy to vote for Randall Terry.
