Wes Clark on Libya
Gen. Wesley Clark says Libya doesn't meet the test for U.S. military action.

Understand the national interests at stake, and decide if the result is worth the cost.
Know your purpose and how the proposed military action will achieve it.
Determine the political endgame before intervening.
Get U.S. public support, obtain diplomatic and legal authority, and get allies engaged.
Avoid U.S. and civilian casualties.
Once you decide to do it, get it over with.

10. Makes sense to me. Seems that he agrees with the Libyan rebels who don;t want it either
--though they wouldn't object to a no-fly zone.

11. I think he's right. He's been right about all these situations for 20+ years.
I'd love to think we could stop Khaddafi, but really, I'm afraid this would be the beginning of another really bad situation for the USA.

If something is to be done, we shouldn't own it. Perhaps not even directly participate in it.
