1. I don't want to "imprison" Nader. I just want him to recognize that
Kerry will give us hope to change things for the better in the future. With * there is no hope. Listening to C-Span on the SCOTUS decision, and the fact that there are 3 judges who could retire WE WILL HAVE NO JUSTICE LEFT.
These are dire circumstances for the USA. I am sorry Nader cannot see it that way. I would personally prefer somebody with more leftist leanings than Kerry, but he gives us a chance to rescue the USA. With Bush we have no hope.

And the Repugs are the ones wanting Nader to run. I wonder why McGruder doesn't see this.

2. I enjoy Boondocks...
Especially their grandfather... I just see this as a bit of "don't become the enemy you are trying to defeat." If Nader is shunned and call it "not allowed to run", what have we accomplished? Disenfranchising one is the same as disenfranchising everyone. Pogo's famous line: I have seen the enemy, and he is us.

4. Same Here
IMO, McGruder isn't actually taking sides here. This is more a presentation of a dilemma, one that he also faces. I think he makes this clear by the boldness of the last words in the comic; "WE'RE TRYING TO STOP FASCISTS!!", which are a strong indication of his own personal opinions about the *-administration. Nonetheless, he recognizes that forcefully preventing Nader from running for office would make him/us no better than those we oppose.
A thought-provoking cartoon, indeed.
