An Update from Japan – A Young Woman’s Personal Account of Tragedy and Loss of Life
umi's, a small and fiery young woman from Japan shares with us a deeply personal story about confronting devastation and death, and facing it head on by fighting back. She's been a friend of mine through online correspondence for years, and these are her words:

As I write this I only have enough time to clean up and change clothes, my brother and I have been in Sendai. Back home in Tokyo it’s hard enough to get more water and blankets; this event is very horrifying.

We went there to find his wife and children. Lucky we found them, but while I there I also found so many bodies... even children. I also found great sadness.

I came across a small little girl five years of age. She was stuck under a car, a three door type, and I held her and tried to call help, but my brother said she will die.

2. Sounds like she is planning to go THRU the radiation zone?
She mentions planning on "going to Sendai" and seems to be writing from "back home in Tokyo".
The reactors are between those areas.
'Course, we have no idea of when this was written, perhaps she left for Sendai before the radiation zone spread.
