Into the Heart of Darkness: the Republican mind ...where the sun don't shine
Edited on Thu Apr-07-11 02:52 PM by JohnWxy
Four years ago when I wrote http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=103&topic_id=197263">I Long for the Good ol' Days when Ignorance wasn't Considered a Political Position I never thought things would get THIS bad. Now peering into the Heart of Darkness, the Republican mind, I am aghast at just how successful the twisted machinations of the Corporate Lobbyist Party (CLP) have been. With the TPers they have achieved what they hoped for - a 'Critical Mass of Confusion and Stupidity' manifested by the current throng of CLP suckers who, convinced that the country "is moving in a fearful direction" (CLP code for Bolshevik, Socialist) are now hystericlly demanding that the Government be defunded and deconstructed.

The CLP Propaganda machine (e.g. Fox News Network) has convinced the open mouthed and closed minded that the extraordinary efforts taken by the Government (e.g. TARP initiated by the Bush administration, and the ARRA) which were necessary to prevent the Republicans' Trickle Down Disaster from turning into the Second Great Depression, were actually parts of a Democratic secret plan to steal everyone's personal freedom and establilsh a Bolshevik system of government. The rational effort to make Medicare & Medicaid more cost effective, reduce the cost and increase the converage of privately provided health insurance AND reduce the Federal Fiscal Deficit was really just a devious strategem to "get your grandma". Republicans were telling the suckers they were concerned about their 'freedom' (to die young from unaffordable health care) when they were really being paid to fight for Insurance company profits.

Now, like the storied horse running back into the burning barn, the hysterical hoard of TPers are demanding a reinstatement of the very conditions that created the need for Government action to save the economy in the first place (i.e. more concentration of wealth through the tax code and smaller (i.e. less effective) Government through defunding).

So now we have budget 'negotiations' underway where the Repubicans are demanding arbitrarily set program cuts which they hope will stall the recovery from their Trickle Down Disaster or they will shut down the Government. It's basically like pedophile thieves demanding you hand over your children or they will burn your house down (with you in it). So the Democrats are left to deliberate over how many children to sacrifice to save the family. Such a DEAL!

Jay Gould, the Republicans' spiritual father, would certainly be proud of his progeny. It was Mr. Gould, 19th century financier and Railroad wheeler-dealer, who said: http://www.quotationspage.com/quote/33148.html">"I can hire one half of the working class to kill the other half.". Yes, the Good Old Prostitutes must be doing old Mr. Gould proud tonight.

Republicans were telling the suckers they were concerned about their 'freedom' (to die young from unaffordable health care) when they were really being paid to fight for Insurance company profits. ------ well said, sadly

3. Thank you for articulating this so well....
this is exactly what I have been thinking but have not been able to express. I love TPers but I do think it sounds like kids and a prank rather than the terrorists they are.

4. A central thought in the Republican mind:
These folks are always wrong, but never in doubt.
