Sarah Palin doesn't get what she deserves

FOR THE RECORD:
Meghan Daum on Palin: Meghan Daum's column on April 17 about criticism of Sarah Palin misspelled Palin as Pain in a reference in the second paragraph.

1. Actually, that whole column is worth reading.

"By casting herself as the less privileged, less polished outsider in the fancy school, she fashions the rest of us into playground bullies (ironic, given her predilection for bullying language) who taunt her with big vocabularies and book learning and obsession with nuance. By playing the victim..."

As I was reading, I recalled the phrase I read somewhere, about the 'tyranny of the weak'. There are people (and I've known some) who end up leading us around by our noses, because they have a cunning, a sense they can make us feel guilty for having whatever it is that they feel insecure about, and they use it for all it's worth.
