Revealed: Cameron's talks with Murdoch executives
http://www.scotsman.com/news/Revealed-Cameron39s-talks-with-Murdoch.6802419.jp

PRIME Minister David Cameron met senior News International executives 26 times in 14 months, a disclosure that exposes just how close the Conservative leader has been to the most powerful players in Rupert Murdoch's media empire.

Mr Cameron also invited former director of communications Andy Coulson to his country retreat, Chequers, as a personal guest, two months after the former News of the World editor quit his government job over the phone-hacking scandal, Downing Street confirmed yesterday.

Additionally, details released by No 10 show that one of the first people Mr Cameron visited after being made Prime Minister was Rupert Murdoch.

(snip)
The meetings also included social get-togethers around Christmas with her and James Murdoch, the head of News Corp in Europe and Asia. Mr Cameron met staff from other media organisations, however, the closeness of the relationship to senior figures in News Corp has again prompted questions from the Opposition over the way the government handled the BSkyB takeover - Mr Murdoch wanted to increase his holding in the highly profitable business from 39 per cent to 100 per cent, but the bid has now been ditched.

2. I know we're talking Britain here, but this is like mutiny of the fourth estate.
Since it's also happening over here, it's like one of the crucial civil roles has been turned on it's head. We're officially a dysfunctional country.
