Senate recall elections, Chapter Two: The Democratic districts.

The second round of voting in the state's recalls of nine state senators comes Tuesday, this one in three Senate districts represented by Democrats. And for the first time a state senator is actually a candidate in one of the races.

But Sen. Dave Hansen's Republican challenger has little money and lots of baggage, so it's likely the Green Bay lawmaker will duck the recall bullet.

In addition, Republican primaries will be held Tuesday in districts represented by state Senators Jim Holperin (D-Conover) and Robert Wirch (D-Pleasant Prairie). The winners will face the Democratic incumbents on Aug. 16.

The races constitute a Republican counterattack against the Democratic push to use the state's recall process to seize control of the state Senate and put the brakes on Gov. Scott Walker's conservative agenda........................
