It is a truth universally acknowledged that to turn the public against public figures, it is best to portray them as dumb or boring. Al Gore? Mitt Romney? Boring. Dan Quayle? Sarah Palin? Dumb.

"Crazy" won't stick. "Crazy" works only when your audience is limited to people who already agree with you. After all, one man's crazy is another man's clairvoyant.

So after months of identifying Michele Bachmann as a foaming-at-the-mouth tea party darling, the People Who Craft Election Narratives began to find themselves in a bind. And suddenly, the narrative shifted. Now, it is not that Ms. Bachmann is crazy. It is that she is dumb.

Bachman said Terri Schiavo “was healthy. She had brain damage — there was brain damage, there was no question. But from a health point of view, she was not terminally ill.”... well then, why were some people upset about the idea of disconnecting the machine she was hooked up to?????




BACHMANN LIKENED VISITING IRAQ TO VISITING MALL OF AMERICA: In 2007, Bachmann returned from a junket to Iraq and told her colleagues, “(T)here’s a commonality with the Mall of America, in that it’s on that proportion. Bachmann claimed CO2 is not a harmful gas: “carbon dioxide is portrayed as harmful. But there isn’t even one study that can be produced that shows that carbon dioxide is a harmful gas.”...uh, say Michelle, try breathing Carbon Dioxide for a while.
In 2008, a Stanford scientist revealed “direct links” between increased levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and “increases in human mortality” — globally, he found that as many as “20,000 air-pollution-related deaths per year per degree Celsius may be due to this greenhouse gas.”

.....on the other hand, from the perspective of a plant, CO2 is really cool!



BACHMANN CLAIMED THAT GLENN BECK COULD SOLVE THE DEBT CRISIS: During a February trip to South Carolina, Bachmann told a South Carolina audience, “I think if we give Glenn Beck the numbers, he can solve this .”


Bachmann on gay marriage: "Gay marriage is probably the biggest issue that will impact our state and our nation in the last, at least, thirty years. I am not understating that." ....say whaaaa?





... I say Michelle Bachmann is good for the soul. If you're feelin' down just read some of the things she's said and I'll guarantee she'll have you laughing in no time at all!

10. Flawed premises abound in the article ... calling her dumb & crazy IS taking her seriously.

She is seriously crazy, and seriously dumb. Her words and actions bear that out. There's no justification for not calling her what she is.
