Dominionists Deny They Want a Theocratic State: Don't Buy It
The New Apostolic Reformation, a group of Dominionist Christians, is doing its best to convince everyone that it's not a threat to democracy. C. Peter Wagner, a founder and influential voice within the movement, told Voice of America, "We don't believe in taking over a nation. But we believe in exerting as much influence in every one of the mountains to see the values of the Kingdom of God within a democratic society, within religious pluralism."

That sounds politically correct. But what Wagner fails to mention here is that the values of the Kingdom of God, as enumerated in his own scripture, stand in direct opposition to religious pluralism.

1. That is the Repuglicans' End Goal
No other form of government can repress the people nearly as completely as a theocracy, and
theocracies are essentially impervious to popular uprising, no matter how repressive they become.

That makes them really attractive to those who want a really compliant workforce.

It is argued that the elites would not want to live under a theocracy.
They would live above it, like the sheiks of Saudi Arabia.
Laws are for little people!

3. It's a muddle.
From where I live, Nigerians are Zulus and Kenyans are Khoe-San. Distance makes the differences difficult to see and unimportant. It doesn't matter if I think that al-shabaab are Liberians or Madagascans and am convinced that Niger's Berbers are busily trying to impose Islamic law on Zimbabweans who just overthrew Osama bin Mubarak al-Qaddhafi. What I do and say is utterly meaningless and my opinion can be based on accurate facts or this kind of muddled drivel.

Up close, however, the utter ignorance that I could tolerate as meaningless at the distance of 3500+ miles is patently absurd.

I'm sure the OP's gaze is 20/20. 20/20 at 3500 miles doesn't get you very much, of course. Not only can't you read the bottom line in the optometrist's chart, but you can't even see the continent that the country housing the city with a building containing the office holding the chart is on.

I've been up close to Dominionism and a variety of other Xian fundie and quasi-fundie groups. Sadly, he doesn't place Niger's Berbers in Zimbabwe, but somewhere in the Andes trying to keep Sarkozy from squashing the Uighur uprising led by the Miao near the capital of Finland, Qom.
