Another 'John Doe' probe in Wisconsin: Right to Life's get-out-the-vote efforts in senate recalls
in senate recalls investigated.

Milwaukee prosecutors have reportedly started a John Doe probe into alleged bribery to round up pro-life voters in last month’s state Senate recall elections. The Journal Sentinel said subpoenas are being distributed “like candy” – but prosecutors and Wisconsin Right-to-Life are not commenting on that.

The pro-life group recently defended the way it offered rewards to volunteers who signed up pro-life voters, and urged them to vote early with absentee ballots. According to a group e-mail, those who signed up 15 pro-life, pro-family voters by July fifth would get 25-dollar gas-or-gift cards – and those signing up the most in each Senate district would get 75-dollar cards.http://american-idle.newsvine.com/_news/2011/09/26/7973855-another-john-doe-probe-in-wisconsin-right-to-lifes-get-out-the-vote-efforts-in-senate-recalls-investigated

During the recall races, the group had sent an email that described the elections as putting "a pro-
family, pro-life state Senate at stake."

It then offered "rewards for volunteers who make an impact over the weekend by educating and encouraging family and friends to vote by absentee ballot."

Those who signed up 15 "pro-life/pro-family voters" by July 5 would get a $25 gift or gas card as a reward. The person signing up the most people in each Senate district would win a $75 gift or gas card.

Nine state senators faced recall elections over Walker's controversial bill that severely curtailed the negotiating activities of most public employee unions. In the end, Democrats picked up two seats as a result of the multimillion-dollar elections, but Republicans still hold a narrow 17-16 edge.http://www.jsonline.mobi/topstories/130541638.htm
