... Occupy Wall Street has turned itself into a well-oiled public relations machine. There’s an information tent, a group of live bloggers and plenty of people eager to chat with the throngs of journalists who almost seem to outnumber the protesters.
There’s even a self-published newspaper called The Occupied Wall Street Journal, featuring articles, info-graphics, “a list of principles of solidarity” and even a poem by rapper Lupe Fiasco entitled “Moneyman.” It’s all packaged in a layout as clean and professional as any regional or local paper.
The recently-enlisted newsies were courteous and almost shy as they passed out free copies of the paper, though nobody seemed to know who or what was funding its production. Even one of the many sign-holding men facing Broadway was as friendly as a college tour guide when a sightseeing bus pulled up.
“Hey, thank you for spending money in our fine city,” he declared cheerfully to the befuddled tourists. “Enjoy your stay in New York!” ...
