Debate unlikely to undo Bush's popularity

By MARC HANSEN
REGISTER COLUMNIST
October 2, 2004

OK, anyone out there still undecided? If so, what are you waiting for? A sign from above?

I suspect even the one or two allegedly undecideds left in the country know in their hearts how they're voting.

That's one of the reasons the presidential debates, while entertaining, are overrated as election makers or breakers.

Gore lost in 2000 because he sighed 18 times? Please. He lost because too many people didn't trust him even before Florida stole the election.

won the election in 2000.So what you say now doesn't count. Bush is going to lose, ---- AGAIN.You got that .... AGAIN.

2. Klat ... the writer agrees with you
Perhaps you didn't read the whole article

Last few paragraphs ...
snip --
No matter how bad it looks, deny, deny, deny.

Quagmire? What quagmire? What record deficit? What lost jobs?

This is hard work, the president says again and again, and we can't give up. We must keep moving toward the goal.

Even when the roof is caving in, Bush appears steadfast, consistent and confident. Kerry was on his game Thursday night, assuming the game isn't already over.

3. You are right. I was put off by his claim that Al Gore lost and didn't
want to read any further!

5. that writer should get out in the real world
that writer thinks that "bush remains the big favorite". Bush can eek out a 52% number in a gamed poll by a polling company who always overrates republicans. That is not a big anything

7. Marc Hansen is a basically decent enough of a guy, but....
he is not all that politically astute....he is basically a recycled sports commentator. His opinion is just that, his...it often does not reflect a lot of serious thought, experience or research. I wouldn't get wound up one way or another too much about anything he says.
